Slovenia’s Push for E-Invoicing: New Draft Law Targets 2026
Â
Slovenia took a decisive step towards digitizing financial processes by introducing a draft law proposing a B2B e-invoicing and document exchange. The draft is currently under review by the National Assembly, and if approved, the new requirements will be enforced starting June 1, 2026.
Â
The legislation aims to cover both domestic and cross-border B2B transactions while excluding B2C invoices from its scope.
Â
Accepted E-Invoice Formats
The draft specifies three formats for e-invoice exchange:
e-SLOG: The national standard of Slovenia
EN 16931: The standard format recognized by the European Union
Other international formats mutually agreed upon by the transacting parties
