Mandatory B2B E-Invoicing in Greece: Upcoming Implementation 


Greece will mandate e-invoicing for B2B transactions starting July 1, 2025, following EU authorization on January 13, 2025. The mandate applies to entities in Greece, requiring compliance with the European Standard EN 16931, while exempting foreign companies.


Transactions must be reported in real-time via the myDATA platform. This aligns with Greece’s digital transformation strategy, enhancing tax compliance and reducing VAT fraud. Businesses should prepare early to ensure compliance and leverage process efficiencies.

  1. Implementation Date: 

    • Mandatory B2B e-invoicing begins on July 1, 2025

  2. Authorization: 

    • Approved by the European Commission on January 13, 2025

  3. Scope: 

    • Applies to B2B transactions between entities established in Greece. 

    • Excludes companies not established in Greece, even if VAT-registered. 

  4. Compliance Requirements: 

    • E-invoices must follow the European Standard EN 16931

    • Real-time reporting through the myDATA platform becomes mandatory.
